Parental Pride

You know how every parent talks about their child, right from the first they are saying how pretty or handsome their child is. You, being polite, agree that the baby is cute...blah, blah, blah..whether it is true or not. Nine times out of ten it isn't true, you are just being polite, and usually will comment to someone else about how that baby is so homely, ugly or just weird looking. Stop acting appalled, you know it's true! Parents are just blind to the faults of their children, they actually don't see that their child looks like a good case for evolution. I was thinking about this, after listening to a friend go on and on about their child, and I got to wondering....what if people actually said that about my children....and maybe still say it after one of my brag sessions?! So I looked at pictures of them, with a open mind and saw them as strangers...scrutinized their features. I took in a wide variety of evidence, checking them at different ages and then looking at more recent pictures, seeing how they have aged. I found after much investigation and soul searching that it is true..............my children are perfectly beautiful beings.
